Shinmade Wins TPM Excellent Continuation Award, Achieves Milestone Breakthrough in On-site Management

Upholding the corporate philosophy Sincerity, Benevolence, Integration and Co-prosperity, Shandong Shinmade Technology Materials Co., Ltd. officially passed the assessment for the TPM Excellent Continuation Award on February 6. Hailed as the "Nobel Prize in Manufacturing", this accolade makes Shinmade the first enterprise in China’s pickling, rolling, coating and plating industry to obtain this prestigious certification issued by the Japan Institute of Plant Maintenance (JIPM). The achievement marks another solid step forward for the company on the path toward world-class manufacturing standards.

TPM, short for Total Productive Maintenance, is an advanced management methodology dedicated to maximizing the efficiency of production systems. The TPM Excellent Continuation Award is a high-level honor within the TPM certification framework and part of the tiered excellence awards presented by JIPM.

Shinmade introduced the TPM management system back in 2013. The company gradually established eight specialized committees and set up a dedicated TPM Promotion Department to oversee overall implementation. To further elevate management performance, Shinmade launched the JIPM award application initiative in 2020. It was granted the TPM Excellent Award in 2023, and successfully attained the TPM Excellent Continuation Award in 2026.

The TPM assessment received top priority from the Group’s senior leadership. Wei Longfeng, Chairman; Yi Shengguang, President; Wang Hongying and Wei Jiaming, Vice Presidents; Lu Zhi, Deputy General Manager of the Group Finance Center; and Su Zhijian, Executive Deputy General Manager of Shinmade, all attended the on-site review. Yang Liankai, Deputy Director of the TPM Promotion Department, presided over the assessment meeting. Heads of each specialized committee presented work progress and underwent comprehensive evaluation by the jury.

The review panel consisted of two distinguished professors appointed by JIPM: Tamotsu Nakamura from Shizuoka University and Hiroshi Kono from Keio University. Drawing on profound industry expertise and extensive international assessment experience, the experts conducted an all-round evaluation of Shinmade’s TPM system. They spoke highly of the systematic layout and innovative practices adopted in the company’s TPM implementation. This rigorous assessment not only validated Shinmade’s remarkable achievements in TPM management, but also delivered professional international guidance for the future development of the whole industry.

Winning the TPM Excellent Continuation Award represents a major breakthrough and a significant milestone in Shinmade’s management upgrade, greatly boosting the team’s confidence for continuous improvement. Going forward, the company will keep benchmarking against world-leading standards, pursue steady self-improvement, and strive to become a pacesetter leading the steel sheet industry toward global-class manufacturing excellence.
